Description

This is the first year Black History Month has been marked at the School and we are starting with a small but diverse programme of events to inform, stimulate and challenge. All events are free but should be booked to ensure entry.

We’ve all noticed the absence of Black faces in the upper strata of the School. But what can we do about it? And why does it matter? Dr Gurnam Singh co-author of the Leadership Foundation paper 'How can we make not break black and ethnic minority leaders in higher education', will speak on his paper.

Followed by a debate with Gurnam and Professor John Edmunds, Dean of Epidemiology and Population Health. This will be chaired by Professor Richard Smith, Dean of Public Health and Policy.

This seminar will be introduced by Professor Peter Piot, Director of the School.
